I began my career just about as far from real estate as you can get – as a diagnostic medical sonographer. While I traveled for a unique company providing imaging to large groups, my ability to connect with and help people was born. During my time as a sonographer, I was offered an opportunity to work in the #1 real estate investment company in southern California, Strategic Acquisitions, and jumped at the chance. I had always independently immersed myself in real estate- following trends, keeping up on market updates and making myself aware of up and coming neighborhoods and was looking for the opportunity to do what I truly enjoyed. During my time at Strategic, I was able to work in their war room, bidding on properties going up for auction, determining values and ARV for distressed homes and providing appraisals. What my time here would solidify is that real estate was the industry I was meant to be in, and I was eager to learn even more.
My next foray was joining my cousin and mentor (also my namesake) Koko Kelejian in his company Price-Lift. His model was similar to Strategic in that he would acquire, flip and sell properties, however Price-Lift was geared towards high-end projects and aimed for quality over quantity. I was appointed as the lead Construction Project Manager and oversaw everything from smaller remodel projects to value add additions and eventually to ground up construction of luxury homes.
In conjunction with learning the ins and outs of construction, I was also given the opportunity to work with a top broker within the company, Gina Michelle. Through my time with Gina, I learned how to accurately value high-end real estate, and also became involved in the design of all projects- everything from finish material, paint colors and staging. Through Gina and my collective efforts, the company was responsible for setting not only price trends, but design and décor trends as well.
After many successful and educational years with Price-Lift, I ventured off on my own and co-founded a full service construction and real estate company, The Maven Associates with my partner Araz Jerahian. Araz, who has been a broker for over 15 years, inspired me to get my real estate license, which I currently hold today. Araz and I merged our expertise and our networks and have grown to become the go-to company of choice for multiple well-seasoned investors throughout southern California. Not only do we have the background to correctly identify the type of remodel a property calls for in any given neighborhood, but we have the construction team to execute it and the ability to sell it, all under one roof.
I strive to provide professionalism and most importantly, results for all of our clients. Not only is real estate my passion, but above all I enjoy it, and as they say when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.
